Linda Winn is a writer and speaker who presses on to win the prize. For over 25 years, she taught and coached players to victory in a variety of sports in Georgia, South Carolina and Tennessee. But as a Christian, she believes that the most important event we can train for is our face-to-face meeting with Jesus Christ. Today she teaches the Sanctuary Sunday School class at her church and is available for speaking engagements.
Linda’s background includes a B.S. from Tennessee Tech, an M.A.T. from Winthrop University in South Carolina and 15 post-master’s hours from West Georgia University. She earned state, regional and national rankings as a tennis player and a “Professional” Teacher’s Rating from the Professional Tennis Registry. She holds a diploma from Writer’s Digest Non-fiction course; attended Photographic Workshops with George Lepp and DeWitt Jones, editors of Outdoor Photography Magazine; and co-owned a photography business for fifteen years.
Conferences attended include: the 2000 Blue Ridge Mountain Christian Writer’s Workshop in North Carolina; the 2001 LifeWay Writers Workshop in Nashville, Tennessee; the 2003 CLASSeminar in Spartanburg, South Carolina; the 2005 Glorieta Christian Writer’s Conference in New Mexico; and the 2006 Advance CLASS in Nashville. She was on the faculty of the 2006 Glorieta Christian Writer's Conference.
Linda’s publishing credits include TENNIS Magazine. TennisPro Magazine, Contributing Editor. SMART TENNIS TIMES, editor and publisher. USTA Research Journal. Business Atlanta. ALTA Net News. The Stylus and the Wisconsin English Springer Spaniel News. She was called to write from a biblical point of view in 1999. Since then she has written over 300 columns plus a feature article for HomeLife Magazine. Her first book, Happy Tails: Inspirational Stories for Dog's Best Friend was released by Thomas Nelson Publishers in June 2008.
Linda and her husband, Earl, recently retired to Tims Ford Lake in Winchester, Tennessee where she continues to write, play golf, and take her English Springer Spaniel canoeing in his bright yellow life jacket.
